Espen has chosen to interpret everything that happens in the harsh reality through the lens of a wonderful fantasy world. Every day feels like a celebration, and there are no limits to what he experiences. However, all this exists solely within his imagination. In reality, he resides in a closed ward at a psychiatric hospital and has not spoken a single word until now.
Maniac was the first TV series produced for TV2’s streaming service “Sumo”.
The series received a nomination in in the Best Comedy category at The Golden Nymph awards in Monte Carlo, as well as three nominations under Monte Carlo TV festival in Monaco: Best Comedy TV Series, Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series.
